From his Surgoi home, the second in command last Thursday insisted that all was well between him and the president saying their energy was now focused on dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic.
He reminded members of the fourth estate that he was in daily communication with Mr. Kenyatta on matters national despite him being at his rural home.
“Uhuru, our teams and I are working on practical strategies to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. All options are on our cards. There should be no panic as we will pull through,”’ Dr. Ruto said.
“Let us comply with advisories as reviewed timeously. So, I am not tending to cabbages in Sugoi (Uasin Gishu County). Ignore all other photo’s too,” Ruto added.
And though the DP is rarely seen in many National Security Council meetings nowadays, he maintained that from their discussion with Mr. Kenyatta, all options including total lockdown were on the table and that anything may happen anytime from next week.
He was saying this amid rumor that the head of state may announce a complete lockdown anytime any day next week.
This, according to sources, is part of governmnet’s last bullet in dealing with the Covid-19 infections around the country.
