Kakamega County could be among the first devolved units to experience Coronavirus shock-waves following revelations of two more suspected cases who have been quarantined for suspicion of contracting the deadly virus.
The County Health Chief Officer Bereace Etemesi divulged that one of the patient aged 19 is currently isolated from the rest at Mwihila Mission Hospital in Khiwsero area and that she is a university student from Nairobi while the second case is in Navakholo.
The one from Navakholo did self-quarantine after contacting medical personnel on her condition which was full of flu-like symptoms.
In Kakamega County alone, suspected cases have hit three where the very first one was involved a businessman who had returned from Dubai. He is however in a stable condition as his blood samples still undergo analysis at the Kenya Medical Research Institute KMRI.
The County Government has so far allocated a total of sh. 110 million to emergency Coronavirus cases.
Elsewhere in Mombasa County, 8 foreigners in a 14 day self-quarantine are awaiting their medical results.
