Deputy President William Ruto has been missing in many key national functions in recent times.
Notably, the second in command was conspicuously missing when President Uhuru Kenyatta recently held a security meeting in which Ruto is a Vice Chair.
Majority leader in the senate jumped in to defend that the head of state had powers to invite whoever he wants to have in his meetings.
Kenyans have been wondering why the second in command could afford to miss state functions all through with current pictures clearly showing only cabinet members standing close to the president unlike when Dr. Ruto used to flank the head of state anytime there was a public address session. Sometimes putting on same shirts and matching neck ties.
On Monday March 15th, when the head of state was issuing a statement on Coronvirus, again Deputy President was a no show a clear indication that the kitchen was turning hotter by day.
The second in command who has resorted to social media as his only remaining hope, earlier today shared a post of him attending a church service at Friends Church Quarkers in Lang’ata Nairbi County where he took the opportunity to ask the country to remain prayerful in the wake of Coronavirus.
“Even as we face the challenge of Coronavirus, let us remind each other of the scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,” Ruto stated.
The DP recently made shocking outbursts accusing what he referred to as the system for undermining his office and fighting hard to bring him down.
This is how it is now-
